Establishing the region’s image as a unique tourist destination on the national and international markets”
Project „White, purple, blue, green – trace of eternity. Establishing the region’s image as a unique tourist destination on the national and international markets” is a project of Veliko Tarnovo Municipality, with the partnership of the Gorna Oryahovitsa and Dryanovo. The project is implemented with the financial support of Operational Programme “Regional Development” 2007 – 2013, priority axis 3 “Sustainable development of tourism”, operation 3.2 “Development of the regional tourism product and marketing of the destinations”. It is co-financed by the European Union via the European Fund for Regional Development.
The major goal of project „White, purple, blue, green – trace of eternity. Establishing the region’s image as a unique tourist destination on the national and international markets” is to support, popularize and increase the interest towards the competitive tourist attractions on the territory of the municipalities Veliko Tarnovo, Dryanovo and Gorna Oryahovitsa, which will effectively contribute to the diversification of the integrated regional tourist product, the decrease of the territorial concentration and the more balanced distribution of the benefits from tourism. This goal completely corresponds to the specific goal of operation 3.2 – Increasing the number of visitors and the duration of their stay, improving the seasonal and territorial distribution of tourism in the various regions and territories, based on the integrated management and marketing of the destinations and implementation of different means, techniques and systems, ensuring effective tourist information and marketing”.
Throughout a complex of inter-connected and effectively upgrading activities within the current project, various destination products will be developed and popularized actively on the market. This will positively affect the diversification of the overall tourism product, the market and the more balanced territorial and seasonal distribution of tourism. A mix of management and thematic activities are selected, as follows:
- • development and product position of tourist packages, branding, implementation of advertising campaign in Bulgaria and abroad, production and dissemination of informational, marketing and advertising materials, participation in tourism exhibitions (international, national and regional tourism exhibitions), public awareness and information services, research on the effectiveness of the marketing activities for dissemination, information, publicity and visibility, audit.
- The successful realization of the mix of project activities will result in the following benefits for the target audiences:
- • developed competitive cultural and historical products, with the potential to attract a substantial number of Bulgarian and foreign visitors and tourists;
- • support for the under-developed tourist attractions, such as Dryanovo Municipality and Gorna Oryahovitsa Municipality, which possess significant and unique tourism potential.
- The realization of the project „White, purple, blue, green – trace of eternity. Establishing the region’s image as a unique tourist destination on the national and international markets” will result in positive and direct affect upon the tourism industry in the region Veliko Tarnovo – Dryanovo – Gorna Oryahovitsa and upon the current and future tourists. In the long run, in terms of the local community, the direct beneficiaries (the population of the three municipalities) will be influenced.
